aj makes an excellent point here. Gauge the reliability, operating procedures, and reputation of the provider you're asking for references.

No system's perfect and aj points this out. Have a plan A, a plan B, a plan C...

As in any robust process, it's an amalgamation of efforts and techniques.

aj's a smart cookie -- not too bad lookin' either.

This is really the best use of board PMs for initial contact and have been doing it for years. When you see a member you are interested in, just send her a short PM telling her so, then take it to email and send that same PM to her via email. Always werked fine in the past.....

Thanks for all the responses! Of course if you are on here, that makes it a little easier . I'm just weary of someone that randomly calls and only provides their first name? I mean there's really no way of knowing with no email or last name or anything. I don't get what the big deal would be if you know more about the girl then she knows about you if she is verified and you believe it's her enough to want to meet her
