The chihuahua no doubted rolled that catfood-filled tortilla with love before he scooted his butt across it for extra flavor. 
I miss some of my old furry friends too much to think about without getting all emotional. (L4B, there's a mailman a few years back who I wanted to put a contract hit on, but I decided that my other doggies needed me to not languish away in federal prison.)
Yep, every day is National Dog Day at the Irish Chihuahua Refuge. Arrived home early from a road trip and just had lunch on the veranda of my cottage in the woods with the wee woofs. They got their own brisket sandwich. Now they are laying on their backs in the freshly-mowed grass with the sun on their full, pink bellies, not a care in the world about bills and responsibilities, snoozing away with the absolute assurance that Milk-Bones and tummy rubs will be forthcoming later.
I want to be a spoiled lapdog in MY next incarnation.

The only type of dog I'll ever own
One of those times when I realized I've been on this board too long was when my friend said something about breeding his black lab to my yellow and I jokingly said sorry but she's a NBA ho. Went right over his head.

Oh, that is funny!
I've welcomed canines of every breed and size out at the Irish Chihuahua Refuge, not just ankle biters. My chocolate lab (named "Choco" by my too-young-at-the-time-to-be-imaginative niece and nephew), a good-sized gal of 100 fit pounds, thought she was den mommy to the wee woofs, who crawled all over her playing "pup o' the mountain." She would stand guard and look up at the sky when they were out, watching for hawks and owls. She lived to nearly 15, an amazing age for a big dog.
I miss a hefty wag every once in a while, but pocket pets seem best for me right now.
