why do some states only have the major city example chicago.
I'm a fan of eccie, but I live in illinois and chicago is the only city that represented in Illinois on this site but chicago isn't the only city in Illinois. I wish there was another section that represent all of the other cities in Illinois rather than just Chicago, it's annoying. It's kind of the same thing with Iowa ( which I live about an hour away from ) des Moines is one of the only cities represented there but there is the Quad Cities, Cedar Rapids, along with a few more providers visit occasionally.

Coolbeans I concur. I live in the Iowa Quad Cities, it is all about Des Moines and sometimes Cedar Rapids, we are left out. Plus there is the Illinois Quad Cities , Peoria, Rockford, Bloomington, and C/U.

Honesy I believe it probably has to do with resources and hobbyist population. West Texas has a much smaller hobbyist population than say Austin or San Antonio. Its my guess it was active enough with 4 major cities combined it made sense to create "West Texas" forum for it.
My suggestion would be to post a thread in the chicago and desmoines coed sections. See how many hobbyists are in your area. If there is a significant number then approach the two mods responsible about possibly starting a "West Illini" forum.
Never hurts to ask. Who knows. It may have been suggested in the past and denied for a reason. Or never requested and just needs someone to head it up. But realize it will require resources and a mod to run it.

I'm from IL too, Central IL, and I also use the St. Louis/S. IL forum. Reports tend to divide along I-74. S of I-74 end up in StL, N in Chicago. Quad Cities info usually go to Iowa. Not the best, but hopefully it helps.

I just think in some places it's covering too much of a topographical area, I do think its okay to give big cities their own category but don't make a whole state wrap around one city because then the smaller cities ads get muddled up in the big city ads and they're a nightmare to find. Just my 2 cents
