blocking other users

Is it possible to block other users from being able to see my account at all? What does the ignore list do? Does it simply prevent me from seeing if they have contacted me? or does it keep them from being able to view or contact me at all?

Where can I go to get technical instructions about this subject?

The Ignore List is used to prevent you from seeing posts from other members who you do not wish to view. It also prevents other members from sending you PM's.

To set up your Ignore List use the User CP link on the left of most ECCIE pages, then the Edit Ignore List link on the left.
