Dental hygiene in the hobby

Obviously everyone would like their play partner to have clean teeth and fresh breath. However, a couple of times I've met providers with dental issues. I cringe just thinking about it, and I don't want to think about it in a too detailed fashion, but there was some kind of decay going on. For me it's just one of those things that you can't get out of your mind, and I can't go through with the encounter.

Anyone else with similar experience?

I have had my fair share.

An electric toothbrush and bi-annual dental check ups and cleanings go a long way. Simple healthy habits make the world of a difference in the hobby and in real life.

Breath mints and mouthwash will never be equivalent substitutes to proper hygiene. You cannot "clean" in 30 seconds what has been accumulating for months or sometimes even years.

Good thread topic, this needs to be said for both providers and hobbyists.
