Alert - Hushmail is down

I use hushmail because it is encrypted and out of the U.S. which make it harder to subpoena. Gmail on the other hand will turn over all your emails (even deleted ones) to the courts readily.

I am dealing with the same issue! My hushmail has been down for almost 3 hours I hope they get this fixed soon because I had an important e-mail I was waiting on! Grrrr this definitely sucks!

Well, that's scary.

I used to pay for hushmail. And I liked it. But it was always so wonky at times. Plus, it was annoying to deal with.

I wish that there was another type of e-mail that offered similar types of privacy!

Maybe it's recent, but this is one of the terms you have to agree to now to get an account:

"I understand that Hushmail is not suitable for illegal activity and that the providers of Hushmail will cooperate fully with authorities pursuing evidence via valid legal channels."

I may be wrong, but since prostitution is legal in Canada and Hush is based there, I think they wouldn't be as quick to consider this illegal. Regardless, because I'm probably wrong, it would be harder to get an international subpoena through than a domestic one. I know in my last divorce, gmail was quick to supply all my emails to my ex.
