You idiots are missing the point.

The Governor of Texas is one of the weakest of any governorship in the US. A howler monkey would have been governor and done as good a job as Perry ... Without the gaffes, gays, prayer meetings, attacks on schools and other ignorant initiatives.

The economy wasn't going anywhere one way or the other because of him in either direction.

To credit Perry with "Successful GOP governance" is a ridiculous statement and proves your utter lack of understanding of Texas government.

Danny Goeb is another story altogether. Enjoy that one, idiots. You earned it!

Oh and thank you whir-LIE-turd, for making it about Obama again.

A short while back, you ran your straw poll of who agreed with Kim Jong Un's calling Obama a monkey. You did so for the purpose of race baiting as per your usual tactics. Now you equate Rick Perry's performance and role to equal a monkeys......? How do you condone such a tactic now !

What is your basis for that Yssup ? As usual, your double standard applies. No tolerance or respect unless it suits you and your LIES.

Texas has the highest job growth of all states. One of the largest economies in the world lies here in TEXAS ! This is the result of hard working Texans, Texas investors, Texas inovation. and years of constructive not invasive political administration.

You would have ignorant people believe your lies as you offer nothing but disrespect for anyone not muslim, black or liberal. What a hypocritical simpleton you are.
Yssup you should be ashamed to call yourself a Texan.
The rest of us Texans are surely embarrassed that you do !

You're right to a point. Perry has done little to fuck up a great state and a relatively "hands off" executive branch. Would a liberal have been able to do the same? Or even a overly aggressive conservative? Would Wendy Davis or Bill White have done as little as Perry has or would they have instituted their agendas by rallying the liberal minority to squeal like Howler Monkeys for not getting their way?

He's been hustling business for the State.

Not too long ago posters on here were whining about his trips...

... claiming he was "wasting taxpayers' money"!

His trips were privately funded.

I wonder I they would have approved of Rick Perry's slush fund

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/...ise-fund-audit

The Texas state auditor's office would not comment to Mother Jones on whether or not the fund has enough oversight. However, when it audited Perry's other pet corporate grant program, the $200 million Texas Emerging Technology Fund (which at the time, required the same unanimous approval by Perry and Co. as the Enterprise fund) in 2011, the state auditor found that this fund had no consistent process for awarding grants, did not stop advisory board members (who were appointed by Perry) from accepting compensation from grant recipients, didn't record its meetings, and did not submit the majority of its required annual reports between 2007 and 2009. Another fund, the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, which was spearheaded by Perry and Lance Armstrong, saw eight cancer scientists (two of them Nobel laureates) resign in protest because it was putting political and commercial interests over scientific ones.

Perry is, was, and has ever been a whore to big money and a bigger bully than even Bob Bullock.

HHSC is falling apart amid scandals. Perry derailed another multimillion no-bid contract investigation with his veto pen.

Shortly after Rick began his ill-fated run to presidential glory in 2012, he offered up this gem at a campaign event:

"Those of you that will be 21 by November 12, I ask for your support and your vote," he said. "Those of you who won't be, just work hard."

Unfortunately for Rick, the voting age is 18....and the election day was November 6.

Actually, the executive power is limited in Texas. The power lies with the Lt. Governor.

So yes, a howler monkey could have served and had similar impact on the fiscal health and prosperity of Texas. The monkey probably wouldn't have made so many awful appointments, or hose the second largest state population out of the federal dollars for unemployment and Medicaid that we ALL pay. (You just paid those tax dollars into the system without a chance to get any returned to Texas.).

And it's doubtful that the monkey would have bought a "Gator" boat to keep the Rio Grande safe like Perry did.

there was a third point, but I guess I Forgot it. Ooops!
