Anyone else notice the rise of 'slavery language' in these threads? Gentlemen (and in this case I use the term loosely) saying things like "...if you behave..." and "...I will allow..."
Funny, isn't it, how larger sums of money seem to delude these guys into thinking they are 'owners'? Individual freedoms and behaviors have no price, though. Even in these arrangements.
Your arrangement must have some elements of respect and I'll suggest it needs to begin with the gentleman.

I assume in every SD/SB relationship there is agreement between the SB and the SD. And if that agreement includes ownership, then who are you to say it is wrong? It is so funny in an industry that caters to all manner of "kinks" everyone has their line that they personally wont cross, and anyone crossing that line is judged at the very least to be in need of our help. The real trick is to really let other people live their lives as THEY see fit even if that is letting them be a "slave" to someone else's money. (this response neither condones or affirms slavery, ownership or any other practice - peace!)

I suppose others might view this type of agreement much like one between a minor and an adult, or an intoxicated person and a sober one, invalid. The Law has decided those particular subsets of the population are ill-equipped to enter into a "binding" agreement and thus need protection, in essence, from themselves. Well, and also from those who would exploit them. I'm guessing those who spoke up in this thread feel likewise about some of the "babies." They need protecting.

Ah, come on. No room for PC here.
Talking about making something out of nothing.
Save political correctness for the real world, not here.
It's stressful enough to watch everything you say in the real world. This is a place of fantasy. Folks pay enormous amount money and time to experience something a little fun and a bit different. Why cloud it with freakin' PC?
So what PC terms would the OP suggest during such session? Or should this type of session be deemed taboo because it might offend somebody because it makes them think of slavery.
Don't get me wrong, all that stuff in the past was awful. And I'm sad that it still hurts folks today for them to think about. I am sensitive to that. My beef is with PC. Please no PC in fantasy land. ;-)

Not showing respect or what you refer to as PC, is important. Because everyone here does not in fact, view this as fantasy land, and will never do so, just because you said so, hon. Gosh, if only they would. Some of the gents live and breathe hobby and want others to believe the way they do, mostly because it suits there individual agendas, not fantasies. There's lotsa reasons for that, and most of it is EGO related. Sorry if I burst your bubble.

Tend to agree. PC has ruined America. There is no more individuality. Orwell was prescient in his assertion as to groupthink. His only failure was to overlook the role of corporations being heavily involved in the process.

There is a huge difference between respect and PC. Respect is earned on an individual basis. PC is coerced by multinational corporations and governments.

The very first time I address you, would ya feel disrespected if I called you a loser hobbyist who could only get laid by paying for it? Ya never earned my respect, so I suppose it's no big deal and it's ok I would consider all of the gents as such?
Of course I Don't, it's just an example. We freely give respect, as most are entitled to, until they behave in a manner which indicates otherwise. And even then, some don't stoop to the level of others, because they understand when they do, it indicates something about their character as well, don't ya think?

What on earth are you referring to? Did the OP suggest certain words or phrases are offensive and should not be used? Or did he seek to explore the dynamics between two groups of people?

I'm referring to "language of slavery" and its proliferation. I think it absurd to be concerned about the language used when referring to specific ritualized techniques in BDSM and other services. So is the OP suggesting we watch our PC tongue in a BDSM session and ads? Maybe, or maybe not. That's all I'm saying.
I probably inferred too much from the OP's statement. I'm just a little sensitive to PC garbage.

Hi Max;
Actually I have changed jobs and careers both ways. It c an be lean between gigs, or the transition can be as simple as shaking hands. Once I spent a YEAR off the job market back in school re-training.

I imagine there was some kind of financial support to help ya manage your next meal and roof over your head during your down times. And, I'm very happy for that and for you!
Keep in mind, Controlling SDs don't choose those who have such available in the first place. There is a method to some folks madness. These ladies are mind manipulated and have no resources available that they are aware of. Sad, but true. So, once they discover or someone else reaches out their hand to help, in the manner that should have been done in the beginning, or as they were lead to believe was being done, they then find an out and a way to manage for themselves. It is what it is hon. One lady stated a great experience she had and as most would believe it to be. But things are not always as they appear or should be for everyone, when we imagine it as it was meant....ya know?
