Seriously, though. SL, don't over think it. I do outcalls to ftw regularly at various times of day and the routes are best gaged in real time as you head out - just like anywhere else you go. Googlemaps (or any other real time navigation app lol ) is all you need.

I have to travel from SW FW to Plano or N Dallas once or twice a month. I have found your first suggested route (I-20 to PGBT) to be the path of least resistance.
