The only thing that you can be certain of is that invading Iraq again and invading Syria for the first time....and wherever else these people are holed up will only make it worse....not better. The reason ISIS exists is because our past and continued presence in that region of the world is not ever going to be well-received. Same as if they were mucking around over here. I might not be shouting "alla Akbar" or cutting off heads but you can damn sure bet I'd be willing to pick up a rifle if the situation was reversed.

We need to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels and position ourselves to have as little to do as possible with those lunatics.....they aren't going to change and we aren't going to be able to kill all of them.
ISIS isn't part of any Government. ISIS and any other Terrorist organizations are criminals and can be defeated to the extent that their ability to organize is halted. But that can't happen when they are being funded and supplied with resources by those supposedly trying to defeat them.

So, the fact there were no US troop backup or on - call airstrikes available had nothing to do with ISIL'S ability to walk into Iraq then? Fascinating!

No the fact that the war was won, the country turned over to the Iraq's, the military trained along with the police. All per the right, then the battalions of Iraq military and police ran dropped their weapons, ammo ,equipment, uniforms and ran like rabbits let ISIL into the country. How long do you want our troops to fight their battles for them? Go sign up as a merc and go their.

we have had this discussion a couple weeks ago but your pea size brain cannot remember 5 minutes, per wiki

It originated as Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad in 1999. This group was the forerunner of Tanzim Qaidat al-Jihad fi Bilad al-Rafidayn—commonly known as Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI)—a group formed by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in 2004. AQI took part in the Iraqi insurgency against American-led forces and their Iraqi allies following the 2003 invasion of Iraq. During the 2003–11 Iraq War, it joined other Sunni insurgent groups to form the Mujahideen Shura Council, which consolidated further into the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) shortly afterwards. At its height it enjoyed a significant presence in the Iraqi governorates of Al Anbar, Nineveh, Kirkuk, most of Salah ad Din, parts of Babil, Diyala, and Baghdad, and claimed Baqubah as a capital city. However, violent efforts by the Islamic State of Iraq to govern its territory led to a backlash from Sunni Iraqis and other insurgent groups in around 2008, which helped propel the Awakening movement and a temporary decline in the group. In April 2013, the group changed its name to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
