Favorite Boutique Hotel/Resort to visit?
I love exploring new places. And always try to stay away from the big hotel/resort chains. Would love to see what others have found. Personally, I'm a big fan of the Kimpton line of hotels. Each one is different (for the most part), and I have never been disappointed. B&B's can be wonderful too...

Agree with both your choices. I've stayed at over 20 different Kimptons and have enjoyed them all, especially the one on Fisherman's Warf and all three in Old Towne Alexandria, DC.

Just my 2 cents
I haven't had the privelege of traveling as much as you ladies have I'm sure, but I absolutely LOVED Rumors Hotel and Boutique in Vegas.
Themed around Fleetwood Mac's Estate in California, its definitely a sexy adult fun-filled place to visit.
Don't bring the little ones. Lol
They'll be welcomed but your fun will be trimmed back a bit.
Definitely an experience.

I was going to suggest The Homestead in Hot Springs VA, but then I realized they are managed by Omni.
It's still a lovely place to stay for a weekend.

Try The Iron Horse in Milwaukee.....
Yes...I know it's Milwaukee. But the Iron Horse is owned by Harley Davidson. They took one of the old brick warehouses and turned it into a beautiful , rustic, sexy setting.
Also, 20 miles outside of Milwaukee is The Delafield Hotel. Part of the Premier Hotel affiliation. Last summer I was checking in, looked to my right and Alan Alda was standing next to me.
In Houston.....the Icon Hotel. Part of the Marriott Autograph Collection. They took an old bank and turned it into a suites only boutique hotel. Imagine a clawfoot tub.......in the living room!!!!

I know it is a resort but I love the place.
Moon Palace in Cancun Mexico
Years ago I asked my travel agent where I could go so I don't have to think.
She sent me there for a week.

The Saint in New Orleans looked interesting... I'll make sure to consider your recommendations Dallas
Out here, I've been a big fan of Porches Inn in the Berkshires for fall trips. It's in the mountains so it gets cold early, but the entire place is heated (outdoors as well, it's amazing) and it's fun to watch the first snow of the year from a hot tub
I'm also a big fan of Kimptons, very pretty hotels! Monaco in Philly was one of my faves, it's impeccably decorated. I booked several shoots there.

The Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin Tx, one of the oldest buildings in Texas
elegant and haunted.
Ritz Carlton in Sarasota FL. One of the best places in the world.
The Roosevelt in NYC.
hotel intercontinental in paris (france).
Ritz Carlton in houston tx. If you must go to Houston, this used to be the Renaissance near post oak, it makes you forget you're in houston.
Rosarito Beach hotel - Rosarito Beach, mexico
up until U2 filmed a video there, it was a totally hidden gem. Sigh. We lost it to the general populi, just like the smiths and veuve clicquot, but its still a beautiful place.
xoxo.

+1,000 for The Saint...
but make sure you go down to the bar first and order "The Lust" cocktail. The bar is very cool dark and sultry...with Red decor....
I've had plenty of great nights at that Hotel...will be back next month....love it love it..

Wow! All wonderful responses! My ATF resort (not so boutique-y but VERY different)...the Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale, AZ. Every "room" is a suite/villa style. I can't wait to go back. I didn't get to golf there last time, but I will soon!

The Fairmont in Scottsdale is fabulous....they have a really great restaurant as well.
But if you're going to be in Scottsdale/Phoenix check out the Phoenician....
PM sent regarding another subject...
