New Phone Scam

I just got a call from the "IRS".
The guys name was "Mike" and he had a Eurasian accent. Said that he was with the IRS and read a bunch of disclaimers to me, then informed me that I had been audited
There was a LOT of noise in the back ground. I could barely hear him.
The third time that I said that, we were disconnected.
Just wanted to let you know.

It's a total scam. They give you this audit bullshit over the phone but then see if they can settle a certain amount that clears you. If the IRS is going to audit you, you'll get a certified letter first then they'll call you. If this guy Mike calls you back ask how many people he has ripped off in this pathetic little scam.

My pleasure. I figured it wasn't legit. I know that they send letters. I was going to string him along, but he hung up the third time I asked him to speak up as I couldn't understand him.
