Why are people arm chair quarterbacking the NFL's punishment of $500K+ when the courts are allowing diversion? If his now wife were to state the facts this whole story may be altered. I watched PBS Newshour where a reporter got on her soap box and shamed the NFL for it's actions but never addressed the justice system for agreeing to allow him to do counseling in exchange for dropping charges.

He's low grade scum. You NEVER hit a woman unless its self defense and even then... Sorry, I was brought up that you never hit a woman, the way that he dragged her out of the elevator... He was sick. And the NFL? A year off for a guy who smoked pot, 4 games for PEDs., 2 games for knocking your fianceé unconscious? Gimme a break.

I was brought up not to hit a woman, too. But I was also taught to defend myself. However, many women know that most men are taught do not raise your hand to women and they take advantage of that fact. Women need to be held accountable for their actions and their actions can have consequences.
