Here is the story and you can watch the short little ad. You don't have to read the story. I think watching the ad is enough to make the point.
In Texas, the gal would have pulled out her gun and shot the motherfucker, if it ever got that far. More likely, the guy wouldn't have showed up and shot the mother of his child to take his son, because that is pretty fucking rare - more rare than Democrats voting for the same candidate twice in the same election, I imagine.
Finally, in Texas, if he shot the mother and took his son, he would get a lethal injection, and we wouldn't give a shit if it took him 10 minutes to die, or 120 minutes to die.
Just like the video implies. You can interpret this add both ways. Maybe she should have had a gun or maybe guns should be banned and he wouldn't have had a gun. But she did call the police and was on the phone talking to a dispatcher even before her ex brandished a weapon. Why did she call the police in the first place. Because they can do what she couldn't, plus they have guns. The only draw back is the police can't get to her fast enough.

This ad is pretty easy to interpret. If she had been armed, she would be alive. Calling 911 is useless when seconds count. Go ahead and make the call, since they will have to come pick up the body, but waiting for 911 when someone is breaking is how you get killed.
A tale of two 911 calls:
Armed woman
Unarmed woman:
Fortunately, the police arrived in time to apprehend the rapist, but not before he invaded her home, attacked her, and was in the act of raping her. In her case, police took only 5 minutes to arrive, if that. Rarely is it even possible for such a fast police response.
Bloomberg's ad is unspeakably moronic. It offers a shining example of why women should be armed and prepared to defend themselves.
See the angry ex-husband pounding on the door? Pick up the kid, go upstairs. Put the kid safely in a closet, grab the gun while calling 911. Point and shoot if necessary. Problem solved. She lives. He dies.

Those of you who remain in this hell hole are going to have to increasingly learn to defend yourselves as the government runs out of money.
