Yep... The reason employers will lay people off is so they won't have to raise their prices so steeply. But when you are talking about DOUBLING the cost of labor overnight, it is such a huge shock that it will force them to do some of both - raise prices AND lay off workers.

If socialist ideas worked (instead of hurting the people they are supposed to help), we would have been living in a workers' paradise a long time ago.

I think it is a great idea, just as Chicago is the shining example of the city with the toughest gun control and the highest murder rate, Seattle can be the shining example of socialism. Thank god it rains there everyday, there are going to be a lot of homeless people pissing in the streets.
