Providers were NEVER allowed to moderate or impose any sanctions on men at ASPD, it was all handled by MALES who were in the hobby, further, there WERE NO female moderators at all doing any real interaction with the men, in any case.
Especially female Mods who are handing out cups of shut the fuck up to guys IN A REVIEW DISCUSSION.
The review system at Indys had no incentive for guys to tell the truth, and every incentive to give false positives, and withhold bad reviews.
Other than both sites reviews were written in English, I don't see anything else in common.
Further it was the goal of ASPD, to make providers live up to a better standard, therefore, Improving the pool of providers available for the men, not, like Indys, which is all about cuckolding the men, making them more accountable for their words, and doing everything to further the providers in making money.
Hell, I could say ASPD even generated competition amongst the providers.
Indys?
Put a new provider on there for one day, and every other provider was already PMing her to raise her rates to 200 bucks for a fucking handjob.
Hell, King Solomon discovered a college girl in Indiana, whose doing 100 dollar sessions, and he brings her to Indys, and shes suddenly worth 200 bucks for a hefty, inexperienced noob, who wont even post a pic, and is working out of someewhat open college environment, with room mates.
I fail to see specifically or see pointed out where exactly Indys EVER did anything better for the men, than ASPD did.

What Indy's did was take a good group of ASPD members for a long ride on the Titanic slowly it turned from the group of ASPD men to a bunch of oh shit its not the same but what do we do men was never intended to replace ASPD just fuck the men who decided to join we have the girls you have no choice but to come over here. Now a girl has to say
What the fuck as she puts up an ad and sees Blue and Yellow and Red squares.
A smart Provider would say shit I'm going to have to screen now what I'm I gaining from Indy's

So, what would have been the alternative when ASPD crashed for Pittsburgh hobbyists and providers? Indys filled the gap. It was fine for awhile.

Bambi, there was no other option for the burgh when ASPD crashed, we all know that.
Indys had the potential to have it all, and do it all, and I will say again, that its biggest downfall, and what may kill it, is its owner being vested in the illegal acts it promotes.
You can't run a site about*******, and be selling***** out of the offices to the website, which, is what shut down a popular site about growing stuff.
There has to be a hands off, all information is posted by third parties without my participation and/or knowledge, that places like girldontdatehim dot com and the like have, that insulate the owner from any liability.
That obvioulsy, never happend.

No shit Sherlock. I was addressing LS and his jihad against Indys. Timing is everything and PI jumped on the oppurtunity. Was that so bad? That was my point. In many regards, it's a better website. PI played fast and loose in a few ways. He now has to pay the piper. End of story.

I am somewhat amazed at how my memory of things differs so dramatically from what is being expressed here.
The way I remember it, Indys came into being in 2005 as a Pittsburgh, pictures only sort of site called "Pittsburgh Indys". That's actually what "PI" stands for. I am not sure but I think either or both PI and his then SO were banned from ASPD. Not sure. In any event the site kept being rebuilt and the message board aspect came into being at some point in 2006.
As said previously, I joined both sites in early 2007 and I lurked for a long time on both site before I began posting anywhere. I am sure that others here will remember details better than I do. The way I remember things, both ASPD and Indys had similar followings in Pittsburgh in 2007 and many girls posted on both sites. I remember lots of drama and animosity when I joined and I recall reading a zillion "TOS sucks" sort of threads and posts on both sites. I would say that was the case through early to mid 2007. However it seemed to me that ASPD steadily lost membership locally and that ASPD had all but disappeared from the local scene by mid 2008.
ASPD always was more of a national site than Indys and always had more of a national following than Indys. I certainly believe that ASPD always had a larger number of total members then Indys. Locally, however it seems to me that though there was a core group of "ASPD only" guys but I personally was never part of that group. Maybe I see it differently because I personally stopped watching ASPD entirely. Who knows? It seemed very clear to me however, that most local providers simply abandoned the site.
The main advantage most people expressed at the time for preferring Indys, as I recall it was the more liberal photo policy, the GTGs and the vouch system. I can't speak for anyone else but I personally preferred Indys to ASPD in almost every way and I looked at ASPD as not at all relevant to my hobby experience. I never used the site to schedule a girl.
Now, I certainly do remember when ASPD folded in December 2009. I do remember a small influx of new posters on Indys in 2010 including SR and aussie salt. I don't remember there being more than a half-dozen. It seemed to me that almost all ASPD members in Pittsburgh had already became regular posters on Indys long before the national site went down. For those reasons, I think it is revisionist history to say that PI took advantage of the demise of ASPD nationally in growing his site locally because I think that Indys was already the largest, most relevant message board in Pittsburgh.
It is also hugely incorrect to say that there was no place to go but Indys when ASPD disappeared. If I recall right, ECCIE, ERAPS, and naughty reviews all sprung out of ASPD and all were around by January of 2010. Moreover there have always been other escort boards available for Pittsburgh hobbyist and providers. I personally have been using multiple sites for a long time and I often posted that Indys wasn't the only game in town as a member of Indys. I was very comfortable quitting Indys in 2012 because I had already come to prefer using Eros and date-check to Indys to schedule girls.
The more I think about it, though, the more I realize it's neither here nor there. It doesn't really matter which board was dominant when. Maybe Bambino has a point in saying that I am overly protective of Indys. I certainly spent a lot of time there and I certainly enjoyed being a member. It really depends upon how you want to look at it. From a purely volume standpoint, I think you would have to say that backpage is currently the dominant escort board in Pittsburgh. Prior to that, you'd have to say CL, not Indys or ASPD.

Well 5, I don't think your path has been much different from most Pgh hobbyists. I was a member at both sites when Indys popped up. I preferred Indys at the time precisely because of the gallery. I'm shallow that way. I still think Indys Gallery forum is better than what Eccie provides. I didn't resign from ASPD, I just quit logging in. Then the lights went out. Indys was the only viable option at that time. So, I don't get the Vitriol of some members here towards the site in general. I joined Eccie in 2010 just to have another source of HOFO. Like ASPD, there was always more on Amps, Jackshacks,BP,Strip Clubs and SW's if that that was your thing. But I didn't post much. I never paid much attention to the vouch system tho. Jeez, I've been hobbying before PCs or smartphones, or cell phones for that matter. I've developed my own spidey sense and has served me well so far. I don't think I singled you out as being over protective of Indys. But there are members on both sites that have animosity towards the other. It's like the backyard brawl, Pitt vrs WVU. I think it's silly. No reason that both sites can't coexist and flourish. Pick one or both to utilize and have some fucking fun.

I don't believe PI or Morgan were ever banned at ASPD, more of just a parting of ways.
And yes, PI did start as a pic site, which actually complimented ASPD, and then it broke ground on its own.
Whats sad, is that I do believe there was some attempt to get ASPD to upgrade their pic system, using PI and MMDs help, but, there was a big fear it would have been hosting "Pornography", and thats one of the reasons ASPD never went for pics, and ultimately THAT HURT THEM, BAD.
Plus, it was a matter of money, bandwidth, and the entire board system ASPD was built on, not being able to do pics well, and the custom code, made changes even harder.
I have no particular vitriol, and I feel bad PI is in the situation he is in, but, you play the game, you roll the dice, you get screwed sometimes.

My ECCIE Reviews
|
What a lot of folks don't seem to realize is that the two sites actually compliment one another.
One site allows gentlemen to review ladies without anyone but the gentlemen being allowed to read the pertinent bits.
One site has and allows for more ads to be posted on a daily basis.
One site has more forums for other types of reviews and info such as AMPS, SWs and the more elusive type of hobbying outlet.
One site has a "system" in place to allow ladies to check "references" immediately, one does not. ( a questionable system but one that is used nonetheless)
Sure, some of the folks on these sites seem to be loyal to one or another board but the smart hobbyist/provider will visit all of them to keep abreast of whats going on in this world of ours.

I never read reviews here or on Indys. The only reviews I ever read are on TER... I guess it helps that I mostly see traveling girls that post on EROS.
