so, I am looking to sell a 1986 420 sel Mercedes - benz. It is in good condition and has no body damage... is $3,500 a fair asking price?

Couple things you need to consider, does the car run? if so is there any mechanical issues? Do you hold the title to the car? These will be major factors in the asking price.. I ask because I just bought ( a week ago ) a used Mercedes Benz 350ML its the Suv of the family and its in mint condition fully loaded with less than 160,000 miles and its gorgeous. Most people will not buy a car without a title in hand, nor will they pay a higher price if they think they are going to have to invest more money for repairs.........But you can compare different asking prices via........Kelly Blue Book or Edmunds.Com and maybe get a better idea of what the car is going for. Also there is tons of sites you can post the car for sale on so you will have a wider range of lookers........

If it runs and the a/c works, and if it doesn't have leaks, that sounds pretty fair. However, not many people are left who I would trust to fix it when it breaks

Like an old Volvo, that thing is good for 500k if its maintained, they were a little Spartan but freaking tanks.
