So, I just came across a couple of articles in the news that caught my eye.
E-cigarettes as good as nicotine patches in helping smokers quit
and
E-cigarette use doubles among U.S. teens
I smoked for 25 years, more than half my life. I tried to quit many times, using many methods. Hypnosis, patches, gum, switching to a different product, aversion training (rubber band on the wrist, snap it every time you want to smoke) and so on. Support groups, putting money in a jar every time I didn't smoke, etc. None of it worked.
I bought an e-cigarette one day on a whim, and tried it out. I never smoked another cigarette. I did spend several hundred on new/better/fancier e-cigs, and on different flavors of juice, but I've given them up too, at this point, several years later.
Anyone else tried them? Have you wanted to try them? What success have you had?
What do you think about the teen use of e-cigs? Keep in mind that you don't have to have nicotine in them.
