That survey in the first link is interesting. The Valentine One does not outperform the Escort Passport as Valentine1 website claims.

The Escort Passport 9500 seems pretty good - something I have heard in the past.

If I read that second website right, it is only saying that "jammers" don't work, but it doesn't say anything about detectors. Correct?

Not sure about Texas cops, but if they are like most get an "installable" variety so you can hide it. Here, you'll get pulled over just for having one on the windshield. Cops hate these things and they will hate you for having one.
