If the answer is, Don't tell, can we then still refer to that person as Significant Other? Maybe Somewhat Some of the Time Significant Other would be more accurate?

That's kind of how i feel about it. If she is not willing to accept that part of you then she is probably not the right person anyway.

Plus there is the fact i have had a couple strippers recently show up at 3 in the morning banging on my door.

Exactly. If the person you're trying to get to be your SO is so unaccepting of your history and who you are, why would you want to be with them?
