What "logic"?

Logic = "a science that deals with the principles and criteria of validity of inference and demonstration : the science of the formal principles of reasoning ..."

A flaw in your "logic" is your underlying assumption that the criminal justice system operates on a principle of everyone telling "all" of the truth. That is simply incorrect.
