Great book. Doesn't compare to Twain. Movies also good, especially the one made for TV that starred Mira Sorvino; Redford version also good.

It'll be forever hard to have a "prettier" Gatsby than Redford although the Gatsby character is an enigma in both the book and past movies until it's revealed who he was. Overall, the whole idea is pretty shallow, but hey, that was what the Roaring 20's were all about - busting out after having gone through WWI. As the song went, "It's hard to keep 'em down on the farm once they've seen Pariee!"
