I've seen this nutjob in person a number of times. He might be the only thing standing between Ted Cruz and the "Most Embarrassing Texan" title.
Coined the phrase "terror babies," and frequently mentioned Hamas as a reason against passage of Affordable Care Act.
Now, he's figured this whole dang thing out!
He says his comments have nothing to do with the Boston bombing, but for some reason or another, he decided to make these comments TODAY!

Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert alleged Wednesday that Al Qaeda operatives were being taught to “act like Hispanic” and cross the border illegally into the United States.
“We know Al Qaeda has camps over with the drug cartels on the other side of the Mexican border,” Gohmert said on C-SPAN. “We know people are being trained to come in and act like Hispanic when they’re radical Islamists. We know these things are happening. It’s just insane not to protect ourselves.”
Immigration on hold?
A Gohmert spokeswoman didn’t immediately respond to a request for evidence supporting Gohmert’s claims.
The Hispanic Leadership Network, a GOP-backed group, slammed the congressman in a statement.
“Rep. Louie Gohmert’s comments were unacceptable, offensive, and ignorant,” the group’s executive director, Jennifer Korn, said in a statement. “Using a national tragedy to further his own anti-immigration reform agenda is not only shameful, but also a blatant attempt to disingenuously twist public sentiment at a vulnerable time. We must take a strong stand and making it clear this kind of intolerance has no place in the conservative movement.”
Gohmert didn’t directly tie his remarks to the bombing of the Boston Marathon.
A spokeswoman for Gohmert pointed to 2005 congressional testimony from FBI director Robert Mueller.
“There are individuals from countries with known [Al Qaeda] connections who are changing their Islamic surnames to Hispanic-sounding names and obtaining false Hispanic identities, learning to speak Spanish and pretending to be Hispanic immigrants,” Mueller told the House Appropriations Committee that year.
Gohmert, a vocal opponent of immigration reform, has previously argued the United States should end birthright citizenship because of the possibility of Al Qaeda or other terrorist organizations could brings women to the United States to have children.
