Beats me.

I'm just saying that is how she is/was addressed at the end.

I'm not sure if they reserve knighthoods for men? Perhaps 'baroness" is the equivalent for women?

Either way, it is just an honorarium. They are not hereditary titles.

It means that Margaret Thatcher was given the female equivalent of a knighthood. There are different kind of knighthoods as well. She is probably a life peer. It is a title that can't be passed on and she is not eligible for the House of Lords.
