Just found out I will be leaving for some emergency work BS on St Croix. Cool gig huh! Anyway I can't take my SO and I can't (if I don't have to) go without some extra night time activities.

Does anyone have a lead for providers on the island? What about an AMP that provides extras? I understand there are some bad areas of the island, so I don't want to end up getting mugged or worse. What about the Casino?

Since the Hovensa refinery closed last year, the island's economy has gone even more to shit than it was before. Most of your providers are going to be on St Thomas, since they get 8 cruise ships in each day, as opposed to STX's one per week. Best bet is to hit one of the local tourist bars (Cane Bay area, downtown Rum Runners, or casino) and hit on a cute tourist. And yes, Cane Bay diving rocks (from what I am told. The only diving I do is at the Y). Have fun! Drink plenty of rum!

Sticking with the tourist pool is a better idea. Checking on line air fare round trip to some of the more "target rich" environments only runs about $200.

If you are going to be there for any length of time, I'd take your pass ports (or get one, if you don't have one). The storms and the economy have not been kind to St. Croix. Practice "safely" ... wherever you go.

There can be only a handful of reasons for that ... none of them good.....

... other than too much "civilian" competition to make any dough.

By the way .. depending on how long you're gonna be down there ... a sweet deal to find is an apartment at a vacation home ... at reduced rent, because you keep an eye on the home while the owners are away .. and make sure it is open for guests and friends they send down. Just make sure they provide "service" to keep it up and you can use the amenities as long as you don't damage.

I'll be down there for several weeks but don't have to worry about housing cost. I just don't like to bring providers back to my place. Nothing worse that having a drunk girl pounding on your door at 3am looking for money.

I'll probably hit the casino bar and hope for something worth tapping. Doesn't sound like I'll be able to find an ATF on the island.
