Inaccurate. W didn't expand the TSA, he created it; along with the whole Dept Homeland Security. We have always blamed Bush for that and always will. Obama now receives that same blame as he has done absolutely nothing to curb/change/replace the dept (except expand it outside of airports to other transportation areas). As will every President from now on who fails to make changes to the dept.

You have to admit that Bush envisioned a different TSA and a different Homeland Security. He wanted more flexibility by not giving them union protection for incompetency and abusiveness. While Bush, right or wrong, wanted protection for the traveling public the democrats used it as a political opportunity to increase their power. There is nothing in the current system that does anything to advance GOP power just more government unionized workers for the democrats. Protection is an afterthought.

TSA has been a horrible fuckup for the American people since day one. Leadership there has been a revolving door of stupid ideas and progressive rights infringement. Airport security should go back to being privatized and the TSA disbanded. There was never a need for the federal government to run airport security, and still isn't. Air traffic control, yes. Security, No.

And before the first of you jackoffs mentions 911, boxcutters were completely permissible to carry on an airplane, at the time.

Staff Edit: Let's keep it simple, There is no reason that a picture of a child should ever be posted on here. CZ.

From the article:

The parents of a toddler with spinal bifida are outraged after TSA officials forced their daughter to undergo a series of additional security measures ahead of their flight to Disney World.

Nathan and Annie Forck were flying out of their home state of Missouri on a February 8 flight bound for Orlando, Florida with their wheelchair-bound daughter Lucy and their two other children.

Mrs Forck took a six-minute video detailing their toddler’s cries as she said through tears that she didn’t want to go to Disney World anymore, and is claiming the TSA discriminates against people who use mobility devices.

DISNEY WORLD! MY ASS! She was headed out to do evil! Thank God for the TSA!

The other day I went shopping with my nieces, the older of whom brought along her daughters, ages 2 and 4. As we drove in the car, the older niece screamed bloody murder. She hates being strapped into her car seat and throws a wall eyed fit the instant she is put into a car seat. Since she hates it so much, should we just not strap her in and hope we don't get into an accident?

Several years ago, headlines were made when Al Qaeda insurgents began strapping remote detonating bombs onto mentally retarded Iraqis then sending them into crowded markets to blow them up.

I know this is hard to accept COG, because it goes so completely against our own societal norms, but terrorists will exploit ANY weakness they can find, and an aversion to subjecting children, the elderly, or the disabled to security measures is a weakness that they will not hesitate for a moment to exploit.

Sorry, SOTF. I don't buy it. Some actions are ridiculous and beyond the pale. This is one of those instances. We do not defeat terrorism by becoming like them. The more liberty we give up to "protect ourselves" the less we have to protect.

COG there is an enormous, HUGE difference between airport security patting down passengers including the elderly, disabled, and children - and the torture and murder carried out by real honest to God terrorists. The two aren't even close to being in the same league.

Bill O'Reilly once aired footage obtained from a terrorist propaganda website. Among the myriad images, most of which would make even the staunchest among us sick, was footage of a little boy, he couldn't have been more than 6 or 7 years old, having his hand held by an adult (father maybe?) to hold his hand steady while he sliced someone's throat. THat's terrorism.

In Iraq, an interrogation house was found by US soldiers. It had apparently been used by Al Qaeda operatives to torture those who were suspected of aiding the US. Every room in the house had blood spatter on every surface - walls, floor, ceiling. In one room they found a simple metal hook hanging from the ceiling, covered in dried blood. In another room they found an iron bed frame with a car battery wired to it. The charred ashes of human flesh was all over the frame. That is terrorism.

Do not....do NOT equate patting down a 4 year with strapping a living human being to a metal bed frame and then frying him to death. Do NOT equate patting down a 4 year old to the guiding hand of an adult, assisting a child in committing his first murder.

They are not even close to alike.
