accepted.

The State of Texas is sitting on a surplus now, unlike the 23 BILLION DOLLAR shortfall it had prior to the last Legislative session. They're now trying to figure out how to pay the bills they deferred last time. there's more than enough money to restore funds to many of the programs they cut last time. Without raising taxes or fees.

Mind you, the Texas Legislature has been under Republican control (totally) since 1994.

Im not suggesting giving anybody more more than they need or starting anything we don't. Just using the money we have as intended.

Call me whatever you want, but I'd like my school taxes to go to schools. I'd like to see mental health programs restored. I'd like for there to be more doctors in Texas rather than fewer. I'd like the money I paid in tolls to go to the transportation infrastructure.

We have the money. And we're generating more every day. why continue unnecessary cuts at the state level?

at the end of the day, we all pay. One way or another.

Illegitimacy is the driving force behind poverty, crime and underperforming schools.
that's why we need to overturn Roe v Wade!

Shame is a powerful emotion. People used to be ashamed of having children out of wed lock. That's largely why illegitimacy has skyrocketed; it's no longer considered shameful. People should be ashamed of behavior that makes them a burden to the community. We have an obligation behave responsibly. None of us has a right to expect our neighbors to compensate for our bad choices.

You are a fucking cement headed idiot, Whiny. the money is there. Even with Perry refusing federal programs that Texans have already paid huge dollars into, we still have a SURPLUS!

It would not take much to restore the funding the medical residency programs, to keep young medical, graduates from leaving .texas.,,it would, cost NOTHING to restore the primary care loan repayment program, so medical, grads, who agree to practice in historically under served parts of Texas would, receive a significant portion of their student loans absorbed..

Or that .texas open medical schools in areas that will provide, clinical help and training to indigent and under served populations, while keeping our best and brightest in Texas.

They just aren't programmed to redistribute the long term surplus. but their bosses,,will happily, swoop down and snatch up that money. It'll wind up as Political swag.
.
?this happens in one form or another EVERY FUCKING SESSION.

Sure, the politicians will figure out how to get it in their pockets. I'd say if they are running a surplus, they should cut taxes. Let the people decide how to spend their money.

I think those dipshits in Austin should have their taxes raised. They clearly aren't happy with the little amount they are paying now. Yssup should lead that charge.
