The story is as it is. You are making a lot of assumptions not based in fact. The government owes us an explanation, and they can do so without jeopardizing national security.

Then ask. They might be able to tell you. I am not sure based on the article how much research the author actually did. I am just pointing out that there are not enough facts for us to jump to conclusions. I did not see anything stating the military refused to respond or that the politicians stated that they were not going to continue surveillance. This is typical lazy reporting that has caused so much ignorance in the nation.

The lazy reporting is done by the state controlled MSM. They simply repeat what the government wants them to say. Independent journalists like this are much more reliable than traditional sources.

We may just have to agree to disagree, Laz. I don't trust the government to tell the truth at all, unless it serves an ulterior purpose. As more information becomes available, I'm willing to alter my opinion. Until then, it is much more likely, IMHO, that the government will either do something incredibly stupid, or lie. It's up to them to prove otherwise. In the old days, the people ran the country. It's not that way anymore.

We really don't disagree on much. I don't trust the government to do the right thing very often either. The only thing we disagree on is the ability to conclude something bad from an article that is not complete. I think media in general has been a complete failure for the past few decades if not longer. While I do like FOX, even they have their flaws.

It would be interesting to see what kind of response you would get from the DOD if you requested more information.

Don't worry i'va, wear StupidOldLyingFart's "dumbest-of-all-posters" like it was a badge of honor. I suspect that you are at least the tenth poster that he has previously made that claim.

As usual, he can't make up what little is left of his mind! He's a "Whimp!"

You are a one-man inquisition.

Obviously you're the one to determine where national security ends and your paranoia begins.

In my opinion they overlay by a measure of 100%.

Bunker bitch...

They are and they aren't. Satellite systems see things one way, land-based systems see them differently. Ideally, you want both, AND you want airborne fast movers (like the late, lamented Blackbird) to fill in the gaps.

What worries me is that this is a relatively low-tech system. The kinds of things you'd want to replace it with are not a whole lot fancier. The fact that they aren't replacing them at all, or at least not saying anything about replacements, bothers me.

Don't worry, Gritsboy, you're invisible - or at least undetectable under your tinfoil hat. Ain't it great to be "safe?"
