Whirl to be clear, I am on your side on this issue. My "how did that work out for you" was in response to all the effort put into the recall election and failing. The very same issue that Michigan is going to vote into law, to outlaw some rights of public sector unions. Even FDR thought public sector unions were wrong.
Come on , take money from a member who may or may not agree with you and then use that money to buy votes. Worse yet is the money earned by these workers is paid by the taxpayer, so the population as a whole is supporting things they may or may not agree with by paying taxes.
Imagine the outrage if there were a conservative union and the workers of that public sector union salary's came from the population as a whole. Then that union money being used to support anti abortion laws or anti gay rights laws, they would go ballistic.
