Do you all remember Rwanda back in the 90s? Susan Rice was in charge of state department policy in that part of the world and we did nothing while over a million people were brutally murdered. Bill Clinton had to hang his head in shame. He said that it would never happen again. That the US would never stand by while people were murdered.

The stupid question was asked, what do I think Obama should do. I don't have access to what Obama has at his disposal so I can't say other that what my experience tells me. I know that something has to be done and the best way to do it is an international coalition. We can create a "no fly" zone at some risk to our pilots, we can create a safe haven on the border of the country with Turkey, we can create a safe haven inside Syria once again at some risk to our people. We can supply weapons to only those that are truly democratic reformers, we can be prepared to do something to the chemical weapons (from Iraq) if Assad deploys them. Fire has a beneficial affect on things like Sarin gas. The point is that we have options and a moral responsibility to lead. Maybe our left wing friends here just write off the people of Syria because they're not white. We have seen an uptick of racism by the left. Maybe this is just more of the same.
