You have to live in Austin and stay sober to see what a totally phoney town this is.
Austin calls itself the "live music capital of the world" but it's the only city in Texas that has NEVER produced a successful recording artist. The musicians here are all crap.
Austin calls itself a "progressive" city, but it's police force is the only one of any Texas city with continuing rampant corruption, including the yearly killing of unarmed citizens on the streets which always go unprosecuted by our District Attorney, and their families are bought off with colossal sums of cash.
Austin has the lowest rate of home ownership of any city in Texas - really progressive.
Austin has the lowest industrial wages of any city in Texas - sooo warm and fuzzy.
Austin has the highest taxes of any city in Texas - really good for working people.
In sum....
Armstrong is the city's local hero because he's just as much of a liar and criminal as all the other city's promoters.
It wouldn't happen anywhere else.
