"Cheaped out" on the stimulus?

Good Lord! It totaled over $800 billion! How much more unaffordable, ineffective, politically motivated deficit spending do you think we need?

And how about arguably the most glaring failure of all? That is, the complete lack of any meaningful reform of the financial system. Nothing has been done about TBTF. In fact, there are even more institutions recognized as systemically critical than there were before the financial crisis, and the biggest ones are, in the aggregate, more than 50% larger than they were before. As I've written before, Dodd-Frank does little to limit the risk of more crises. It's little more than a "crony-capitalist shuffle."

But TexTushHog isn't like a number of clueless Obama apologists who are completely oblivious to the fact that in most fundamental ways, his economic agenda is that of George W. Bush, extended and expanded.

Anyone who seriously believes that Obama has made any fundamental effort to bring about positive reform is living in a fantasy world. He hasn't attempted anything for any reason other than political ambition and expediency.

The governmental infrastructure didn't even exist to handle that kind of spending. That's part of the reason so much was stolen and wasted.....

CaptainMidnight, I absolutely agree with you on TBTF. He made some regulations that help a little bit. But by and large, we're almost as open to market failure in financial markets than were before, and the TBTF banks are bigger. So very little, if any progress.
