In a related note, is it really true that the current Resident is the only occupant of the White House to skip commemorating D-Day?

"It’s D-Day and President Obama is hitting the beaches – of sunny California!
Instead of scheduling a brief event to mark the 68th anniversary of America’s brutal landing on the shores of Normandy, Obama is already on his way to San Francisco, where he will hold two fundraisers before moving on to Beverly Hills to stage two more."http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2012/06/06/obama-scheduled-commemorate-dday/

Yep. Bigger fish to fry. That's reserved for Commanders.

Patently false according to Urban Legends and Snopes. In fact the there have been exactly four D-Day trips by presidents:
Reagan - 1984 (40th anniversary)
Clinton - 1994 (50th anniversary)
Bush II - 2004 (60th anniversary)
Obama - 2009 (65th anniversary)

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/dday.asp

Bush also gave speech at Normandy in 2002, however that was associated with Memorial Day

Please highlight the words "trip" and or "Normandy" in my post. . . stick that in your Snoops.

Agreed, and apologies extended all 'round. It was a poor choice of words.

Hey, Moron, show us where Bush commemorated D-Day other than on the five year anniversary every president commemorates it on just like Obama did. What is good for the goose is good for the gander, asswipe.

YOU JUST POLITICIZED A STORY ABOUT FINDING A SOLDIER'S REMAINS, YOU WORTHLESS PARTISAN HACK!
