Isn't that the great thing about working in government? You can tell someone to estimate everything piece of input to the highest value and you get better numbers. You can just tell someone so only two people know and no paper trail.

September employment rises by 114,000 and results in a 7.8% unemploymentAugust employment rises 142,000 and results in an 8.1% unemploymentJuly employment rises 181,000 and results in an 8.3% unemployment.

Additionally, in creating the September numbers the BLS admits to not counting 2.5 million people who were unemployed.

"In September, 2.5 million persons were marginally attached to the labor force, essentially unchanged from a year earlier. (These data are not seasonally adjusted.) These individuals were not in the labor force, wanted and were available for work, and had looked for a job sometime in the prior 12 months. They were not counted as unemployed because they had not searched for work in the 4 weeks preceding the survey. (See table A-16.)"

"attached to the labor force" ... "not counted as unemployed" ... they "wanted and were available work" ... but not counted as "unemployed" ....

Try that with the IRS.

The final analysis is that Obaminable said if you all give me all that money I am asking the taxpayers to cough up ... now or in the future .. I will have the unemployment rate down to 5.6%. Or was it lower than that? So spend the next few weeks arguing about whether its 7.8% or 8.1%....
