One thing I don't quite understand is why don't the Asian women go ahead and get a massage licience? There must be short courses to make you elegible. A charge of prostitutation is much harder to prove so why not eliminate the low hanging fruit?

It's different in every state, but you can't just take a two week course and get licensed. Many states require a year of massage school.
Other obstacles to obtaining a license include legal status, work visa, previous charges of prostitution,etc.
And in many states, the massage classes are only taught in English.

What difference do you think going through the process to get a massage license would do? The services they offer are still illegal lol. They aren't usually exactly doing it of their own free will most of the time.

New York will need more revenue ideas sooner rather than later. Especially if they keep taxes going up. Lots of folks will leave. Only a matter of time before legal brothels in NYS.

It will ONLY become legal when the state can tax the hell out of it..........that is the only reason why weed is legal in 1/2 the country............the cops (DEA, State, Local) needed MORE money to fight the so called War on Drugs........govt said there is not more money........so they moved resources to the hard core drugs that were killing people.........and then told the govt why don't you just make weed legal and tax it........and govt said.......TAX IT???? WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!

There is a bill in the NY legislature right now dealing with the de criminalization of prostitution. Big article in news last week.
