Default Lottery tickets as gifts

I was on Twitter this weekend and there's a provider that likes lottery tickets as a gift and someone gave her a scratch off and she won some money. Wonder what the right way to handle for example if I gave a provider a ticket that hit for 100k. I know a gift is a gift with no strings attached. But what you do if that was you. Would you keep it all or give some to the person who gave it to you. Not really a correct or wrong answer.

Well, if they're smart, they won't say anything. That said, a gift is a gift with no expectations of sharing said gift, whatever it is. If they share in the winnings whether it's a % or otherwise, be thankful. My .02

Me personally don't want anything to do with it. But the comments were crazy from both extremes.

Years ago I use to go visit family in Las Vegas. I had coworkers that would give me money to bet on games in the sports bar or money to put in the slot machines for them. Always an honor system, as when it comes to the slot machines there was no way they could know if I bet it or kept it, unlike betting on a game they know the results of. I never once asked for it, but if someone won a good sum of money they would give me 10% of what they won. Sometimes it paid for my whole trip. So although I don’t think it would be appropriate to ask for it, but if they won big on a lotto ticket I would think the same 10% “finders fee” would be nice for them to give to the giver of the ticket. It should never be expected or asked for as it was a gift, but I do believe that would be appropriate.

If you worry or wonder about it best bet is to scratch it off yourself, these women won't tell you if they won big. They sure wouldn't give you a session if they won big either.
