Default propertty tax

so my home value went up 44%, even though I had an assessment for mortgage refinance and it was the same as its been for o5 y rs


Ive appealed and gotten my post card for my hearing date ON THE date of the hearing or two days too late


wtf? is going on in KC?

That's a County issue. Not KC.
Call assessors office.
Yes it's a mess, take in the appraisal you got for your refi.

how the board has set up 2 hearings for me and sent me cards that arrive AFTER the hearing?


Im just trying to figure out what to do

Actually Jackson County really screwed up on a lot of parcels. Some going up double. I had a conversation with one guy,who was involved in the process for the county. Said it was nothing but a mess. They rely on all this computer software instead of people. Then when it fucks up, it takes people to fix the problems.

I have called 816-881-3309 and have been told different things1. the BOE looked at my emailed appeal with the attached appraisal and I owe less then I paid last year
2 they dont know how much owe,. that is a different department
3 forwarded to "roberts" voicemail.
4 wait for an email with my new tax bill
5 email boardofequalization@jacksongov .org and tell them what happened and get a new hearing


so I'm waiting.....

I look at the preoperty account summary and was told that page, which shows what Ive paid since 2014, is not updated and not showing correct amount

yes, they lowerd to what I had the estimate done a few yrs ago when I refinanced
Im not happy it is higher than it was in the past, but it is a lot lower than what they claimed it to be
