Depending on how you structure the event, there are potentials for

-- targets (one or more females)
-- participants (multiple males)
-- assistants (fluffers; clean up crew; door keepers; security inside and outside; bartenders/waitstaff, and of course, cashiers)
-- spectators

in which the organizers figure out how to screen, vouch, admit and maintain security as well as organize and protect the venue.

Pretty sure there are some folk hereabouts who have done or participated in all of the above who might be willing to share information.
