So at the end of the day all this yates press bullshit and running up the score on far weaker teams didn't to a damn bit of good.
High schools aren't the NCAA or NBA level of acquiring talent, but they are limited to the students in their district. So, what good comes of beating far weaker teams by 60-70 points? None, which was proven last night.
If yates talent level is that good, which nobody doubts, perhaps the best game during the regular school year would be to divide their team into two teams and have a hearty scrimmage. Run the famous yates press all you want. No doubt yates against yates would be a far better game than yates against a team with far less talent.
There is no reason to keep on pressing with a 30-40 point lead, and if the opposing team starts to come back, then re-institute the press, which will shut the comeback down.
Lastly, I acknowledge some of these kids are playing for a scholarship, however if I were a college scout I wouldn't waste a minute of my time watching yates vs. Columbia, but I would scout out games against like opponents or the final four of the state playoffs.
