Dudes make millions for failing at their job 70% of the time. Pretty sure Tebow will find a way to fail even harder.

If there isn't a Tim Tebow Award for NCAA Football players he's not that great.

He is going out for the PGA tour?
Except for endorsements, you don't get paid if you fail. Your pay is directly tied to your success.
You don't make the cut you don't get paid.

ESPN probably put him up to it, to give them something to talk about since they don't have the Olympics.

Praise Tebow!

The Astros just signed a 32 year old Cuban 3rd baseman and paid him Millions. Tebow is worth a look. Although he is 29 years old. He has baseball tools, arm, speed, power, and probably the right head for the game. I wouldn't put it past him to succeed but the odds are long. The Cuban guy has a younger brother the half Asstros may be eyeing as the real prize although the Cuban dude has been an international stud for years. Could Tebow be any worse than, Gomez, Tucker, Reed and Rasmus have been lately. Bring it on Astros!!! Some Tebow magic is what we need!!!

And believe me I know he would have to go through the minors very quickly to make it, but he could do it by the time he is 32.

Shit, I'd put him out there over freaking Carlos Gomez today. Hard to believe he'd be worse. If he did nothing but bunt and not drop pop flys it's an upgrade.

No big deal indeed. I can think of a several dozen players of days-gone-by that'd make my "Greatest College Football Player Ever" list before I reached Tebow's over-rated name.

An average arm, at best.....his inflated passing stats were built throwing to superior receivers such as TE Aaron Hernandez....WR Riley Cooper...WR .Louis Murphy.....and, oh btw, the all-purpose Percy Harvin. Urban Meyer gave Timmy a treasure trove of future NFL receivers to get the ball to (not to mention a pair of Pouncey's on the OL to block / open holes for him).

Simply put, Tebow was the beneficiary of being at the right place / right time in Gator football history IMO. Plenty of individual awards adorn his mantle piece, sure.....but he's just another average qb who received an award that no longer carries the prestige it once held (the Heisman Trophy); ie: Jason White....Troy Smith....RG3....and Johnny Manziel, etc, etc....

Yeah, well Gomez is gone. He did, however, help make the playoffs last year. Yes this year, he has not performed. But, the guys that the Astros gave up for him last year have yet to really make any impact either. Both Howser and Hader seem to have been real let-downs for the Brewer organization especially. Phillips is doing okay in AA ball. But he's in freakin DOUBLE A ball.
Trades don't always work out well, but I still say the Gomez / Fiers deal was not a bad gamble on the Astros part.
