What questions can be asked?

Just wanted to get some opinions from out there. I live in a place where its a 2-3 hour drive to see any "verified providers" but once in awhile someone will post in a city 45 minutes away. Most of there are on BP and most are not verified.So I called one today that I have seen posting other places for awhile now posted here. She answered and told me she was "trolling" my area to see what interest there was for her to come there. And then asked... What was I looking for? Now in all my reading about the hobby I thought it was a no-no to ask that question unless you know for sure they were a verified provider.So my question is... what should have I asked or said to her after that?.I just froze and hung up not knowing what to say. I would greatly use some input this..And if this is not the correct place to post this could someone steer me the right way. Thank You very much

I could be wrong but I would think she was asking what were you looking for as in length of date maybe. Longer appts are often given high priority and depending on what you wanted the length of that date might've persuaded her to come to your town vs the next she was putting fishing ads in.

Thank You very much for that answer.It makes sense that, that is what she meant .Being new to this I'd rather ask a question and try and get an answer than do or say something I'll regret later. Fargo is a very good place to visit if you choose to do so I hope you have a wonderful trip.

You're most welcome and while you were new and got nervous no more hanging up on ladies (esp if you were interested in them and might want to meet them in the eventually).
I'll definitely keep Fargo in mind thanks....other ladies who've toured it have had mostly very positive things to say about it .

In addition, since ladies don't pass through often as, you've stated, I'd say to tread a little more lightly the next time around instead of responding in such a knee-jerk way as to hang up, which comes off as rude. I could definitely see how if you're concerned about safety and confused about where her line of questioning was going that you'd be taken aback. But a clarifying question was probably in order.

For example:

her - "What are you looking for?"
you- "What do you mean?"

If she were to go in the direction of talking explicitly about activities, you could express your discomfort, and excuse yourself from the call. And if she was asking about when, where, for how long, etc. y'all could proceed. Best of luck with finding ladies that are to your liking who aren't too far away.

p.s. You're on the right track with researching and reading up about hobby etiquette.
