Need help - provider threatening me after bad review

Hi everyone,

This looks to be a great site and there seem to be many knowledgeable people on it, so I had to join. I need help with this situation:

10/2 - I made an appt. with a provider. She directed me to give the roses to her driver in order to get her room number, which I did (big mistake on my part). It turns out there was no one in the room and he had driven away. So, I was robbed.

10/9 - My review about the robbery on Escorts.com was accepted.

10/11 - the provider starting sending me messages about how it's not her, etc. But her contact information on Escorts.com is the same and two days later, she even sent out a mass email and text message saying she has incall available.

10/13 - in her last message, she wrote: "...please dont do this to me.I can get ahold of your IP address your work info address, property taxes and I dont want to do to you what you have done to me about my livelyhood bc I did not do this too you. I offered to meet with you without pay and that still isnt enough. You must be just out to hurt a young gurl you never met with nor talked to over the phone...."

I don't know what to do now. I certainly will not meet with her. She has a yahoo email and my cell phone number. Can she do what she claims? What should I do?

As far as the IP # she cannot. i worked fraud (credit card) in my former job and trust me unless she's got a hookup practically with the CIA and a ton of time on her hands she cannot. It about takes an act of congress to get someones IP Computer address. Your Cell, she'd have to pay a service to just get a location which i doubt shed do. Assumming its your hobby phone, ditch it get a new one , and close out /change your yahoo address so at least you wont have to worry about her contacting you. Hope that helps a little, im sure others will give you more advise as well. Sorry that happened to you. So not cool.

Thank you for your help. The problem is that the cell # she has is not a hobby phone. That's what got me concerned. I am definitely changing it right now, but there are online services that advertise they can get all the information about the owner of the number for as little as $4.99. Can they do that with a cell phone number?

I am definitely closing the yahoo address.

I screen newbies all the time using intelius.com. For about $5 I can get your name and address. I once did this because a registered sex offender contacted me and lied about his name: once i had the address i looked it up on google earth and could see what kind of cars he had. Now i only did this to warn the weirdo that i knew where he lived and could inform his parole officer that he was contacting escorts under a fake name if I had to so that he would leave me alone. But people who know how to get this information could use it for their own purposes to blackmail or worse. This is why folks should get hobby phones and it's also why you shouldn't see a "provider" that you know nothing about. It still amazes me that men would only call a plumber that they know or comes from a reputable company, but they'll hand their money over to a driver before ever seeing a girl they know nothing about.

Thank you for the web site information.

Just an fyi, I did check to see if this provider WAS reputable. Her reviews on escorts.com were all great, except for the last one, and so were the reviews on TER. But here is what happened first, and maybe it should have stopped me from going further: I was trying to contact another provider from the same agency/group using P411. The one that robbed me answered instead. She said that the first girl was not available in my area and that she was available instead. After I checked out her glowing reviews, then I worked out an appt. time with her. So, it seemed to me that she was reputable. Not sure what else I can do to verify a provider.

Concerning the IP address.. so what if she has your work IP.... any email you send out has a HEADER that has that...

if she is making these threats in cyberspace then she could be viewed as a cyberstalker. tell her that her threats and information have been sent to the cyber division of your local Police. Also point out to her that she might get a call for an appointment it might be the cops (which is a normal reality)

On your cell #... do you have an Android powered phone or Iphone? If Android, get a new # from your carrier.. then go to Google and request a G-talk phone #... then once you are granted one, get the G-talk app on your phone. You can make calls from IT instead of your normal cell #. The G-talk # will appear instead of your cell # on caller ID. Also if you ever need to change the Gtalk #, it costs $10.

Another idea is have someone set up said appointment, but have you as their wingman with a camera to get photos of the car, its plates etc....

in other words, get some nice images to OUT the thieves

You are welcome... I recommend it to clients and providers since it allows you to have 2 phone #'s on 1 without 1 of them showing up on your bill.

and changing #'s is 10 dollars... drop in the bucket but worth it.
Another suggestion is do not hobby from your work pc, nor do you use one of those 3G adapters from your cell carrier etc.. always use a public wifi hotspot.

You wouldbe surprised how many do not restrict (Burger King, and alot of small coffee houses for example).... so what if she has your IP from one of these places? THEY do not keep a log of who had what natted IP assigned to them and what traffic they were doing.
