Let's See Who's OK with this Censorship/Morality Issue From Obama's Justice Dept ..."Porn Account Closures Show Banks Erring on Far Side of Caution"
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...red-risky.html
Quote:
JP Morgan Chase has reportedly ordered the closure of hundreds of bank accounts registered to the names of people who work in adult entertainment, sparking outrage and confusion across the industry.
Chase bank, a subsidiary of U.S. giant JP Morgan Chase, began sending out letters earlier this month to the entertainers, according to CNBC, informing them their accounts will cease on May 11.
The letter, which has been posted on social media by several of the industry names involved, says the shut down was a result of a 'review' and apologizes for any inconvenience, however gives no further explanation.
In a Wall Street Journal op-ed last Thursday, American Banking Association CEO Frank Keating wrote that the Justice Department is 'telling bankers to behave like policemen and judges'.
'Operation Choke Point is asking banks to identify customers who may be breaking the law or simply doing something government officials don’t like,' Keating wrote.
'Banks must then ‘choke off’ those customers’ access to financial services, shutting down their accounts.'

JPMorgan Chase (JPM) has closed accounts of individuals or businesses associated with the adult entertainment industry, several media outlets have reported. In one case, the adult film actress Teagan Presley posted on her Twitter site a copy of the alleged letter from Chase saying her account would be closed on May 11. Presley's husband, film producer Joshua Lehman, told Business Insider, "it was because of our industry."
In another instance, PayPal has blocked attempted transactions by porn-affiliated customers, and in the case of porn star Teal Conrad, she was "banned for life," Al Jazeera reported on Apr. 30. In an email to American Banker, PayPal said it does not comment on specific customers. PayPal "does not discriminate against the people who use our services. We will not and have never closed a PayPal account based on what a customer does for a living," it said.

Yeah, lets ask the ladies here how many of their PP accounts have been shut down and money in them not refunded in the past. I personally know of at least half a dozen.

You would think they would just tell you they're closing your account. The "open an account at another bank" sounds wrong.
Do you have the link to the original?
Just saw the link. Never mind.

People who have been there for years and aren't beholden to the President.
You know as well as I do that the President can't fire any of these guys. Only the political appointees are fair game for him.

I hate being smh. Because it just seems like moving backwards. Since everything is relative, does it really matter?
If so, why?

CC, this thread ran last month -- with opinions galore:
Chase Bank and at risk accounts.

Further, Congress is correctly taking action against Holder's DOJ for some of its "Operation Choke Point" overreach:
House votes to defund Justice Dept. program that targeted legitimate gun dealers
The Washington Times Friday, May 30, 2014
"The House of Representatives passed an amendment Thursday to stop all federal funding to be used for the Department of Justice’s Operation Choke Point, an anti-fraud operation that was found to be cutting off legitimate businesses from their banking lines."

A stupid liberal attempt to run around our laws..............
My guess, even if successful in shutting off mainstream financing (commercial banks and other lenders), venture capital would find away to finance these enterprises..............
But progressives don't give a damn about the rule of law; it is all about the outcome !

For sure paypal and Chase bank are dirtbags. And the vast majority of politicians. Paypal is so sleazy its beyond forgiveness. I have trouble appreciating Elon Musk's legit endeavors due to his slimy, sleazy paypal start.

the banks are tools of the government used to further invade our privacy and provide information to the government. The banks fear the regulators causing them great amounts of hassles if they do not comply with their edicts. this is similar to them being forced or coerced into giving sub-prime loans winch led to the collapse of the financial system. The fear they will be charged as accomplices to money laundering forces them to comply.

A simple question. You “know” I am a employee of one of those organizations—so either identify which one, or admit you, like your mentor, are a pathetic liar.
