Gotta love the wks. They try so hard. If sex is all that a provider is good at. I see no shame in them admitting such.

So, you just...like going to school? Take online classes or are you physically commuting and sitting in classrooms?

I'm just curious. Reason being, after the first two degrees, I don't know, it starts to feel like the process is just a trophy case for some people to say, oh, yeah, I have a degree in THIS and a degree in THAT and then another in....THIS.

I'm assuming there's a purpose to all this, other than for trophy purposes, yes.

You look like you're in your 20's, and you have three degrees, and working on number four.

Are your parents just wealthy as fuck, and cost is no factor, or...what?

I'm just curious....thinking out loud, really.

LOL. Yes, I do like going to school. My last degree was online, before that, in the physical classroom. I'm WAY older than 20. I have a mix of scholarships, or I pay myself. I have a very specific field of study and reason for doing it.

Like, I said...I do this so I can be in school and support myself.

There are times that I wish my job were a little less real-- it has really jacked up my hobby plans these past couple of months.

But-- then I take a look at my bank account on payday-- and my benefits package-- and I remember that the hobby isn't really meant to be a forever job.

I could have stayed in college for life. I'd like to have five of six PhD's. I loved the process. Loved the research. Loved the writing.

Good for you guys who like going to school. I hated every minute of the classroom but enjoyed the college life outside of it. I rarely even went to classes for my degrees because I was so bored. But I like money a lot more than I hate school.

I did was I was raised to do which was to be highly educated and have almost 4,500 posts on ECCIE. Wait. What? Forget about that ~4,500 posts on ECCIE. I don't remember that for success in life. I kind of went rogue with that shit from my upbringing.

Well, y'all can do that...go to school your whole life, attain dozens of degrees, the whole nine. You can do that when you're white and money isn't a factor. Going to school is time consuming for the rest of us, and time is money. The hours spent listening to monotone instruction, short lunch breaks and administrative red tape could be spent making money instead.

I mean, we ENDURE going to school, for a while, to make more money and get out of living the ghetto fabulous life. We do that because we're brainwashed into believing that it's the way to go, to show that you're 'making an effort' to live better. But it doesn't guarantee anything. It seems that the rules of "success" change way too often.

Going to school 'for fun' and because it's a nice life is...well, seems a bit unorthodox, if nothing else. But to each his/her own.

Why does this have anything to do about race? Plenty of non-white people enjoy furthering their education.

I believe the term for people like this is "career student".

If your goal is teaching at the university level, you really aren't a "career student," it is the required course of study. Also, if you do academic research, that's not just degree "collecting."
