I was watching a documentary on public television with some young gay friends this past weekend.
It was about the history of LGBT rights from the 50's to now.
The segment on the AIDS pandemic was a very visible surprise for my young friends.
They honestly had no idea how bad it really was and how many people were deeply affected by it.

Some of them actually believe it can be cured as simply as any other STD. I told them it can be very expensive to control but not cured.

I've seen first hand how clueless some millennials are when it comes to their mortality. And these are folks without addiction or monetary problems so I can't say I'm surprised that some folks don't put their lives first when it comes to profits

Omg! No joke! I saw Bohemian Rhapsody on a date with a 25yo from p411. He started crying and googling hiv/aids in the theater. He literally had no idea how big of a deal it was. Part of the issue is that people dont understand how even condoms work. We are so backwards and pent up in the country, that we cant educate our kids.

When I moved back from Florida...you'd be surprised at the amount of GUYS who tried to convince me that BBFS was the norm in Pittsburgh nowadays. Many of them tried after I made my NO quite clear. That was one of the first things they taught us in 6th grade sex ed. That they were not 100%, and that certain things would make them go wrong.
