I see them everyday on Northwest HWY
My favorite homeless person on is on Northwest hwy near 35. He will walk with a limp with one foot out to the side like he has a birth defect or sometime of previous injury that made him that way. Then when I come back by later that day he will be either riding his bike with the foot perfectly normal or running to catch the bus. He just punches the time clock like the rest of us.

A guy in Houston saw a 6'8" black guy panhandling near an overpass in Houston. He thought that guy looks like JR Richard the first major league baseball player to make over 1 million a year. IT WAS

I saw an East Indian Family panhandling recently in the Northern burbs. I had to do a double take. It was the husband, wife and two children. Very strange to see that type of family begging for spare change. They were well dressed too.
Back in Denver there was an guy dressed as a priest that walked around LoDo with a basket held out in front of him. He would mumble something in a thick, Irish brogue like, "Feed the poor. Save the children. God bless you." over and over again as he walked, swinging the basket back and forth. He went by Father Flanigan, but the locals called him Father Phony. I'd bet he is still at it.

I think it should be a serious crime to do that shit, taking advantage of people's kindness. Maybe have the cops check out each and every one of these bastards. If you're in a legit bind, life has gotten away from you a little bit, then sure, if people want to help you by throwing a few bucks your way that's fine. But if you still have a house, still have a job/source of income, and your ass is basically 'faking it', then how about we put you in the county for about 30 days, to get you out of the elements and put 3 squares in your belly for the time being, until you can 'sort some things out', i.e. put in some job applications, get a resume` together, see if we can rent you an apartment, etc.
If you're legitimately homeless and penniless, you would have no need to run from/dodge the cops, eh??

Homelessness stems from a long road of burning bridges, addictions, and in most cases mental illness. Maybe they choose the life they live over getting the help they need. There are so many programs and shelters these days that are there for them.. Use it.
It's like I have to tell some family members at times.. Look if you want a beer and a pack of smokes.. just ask. Don't feed me some BS story and how you will pay it back.. lol.. I don't want it.
I don't judge on any ones life circumstances.. just be honest about it..
These days I have seen so much and though I wish I could save the world..
It is unrealistic.. so..
I keep on going and say a little prayer.
That's all I can do..
When I want to give.. I will donate to a charity.
I have been there done that.. I know how evil the streets can be.

frankly, many Indians panhandle/beg.. they just use a different method.. they try to get you to charge less for a service or good... they feel personally wounded if they don't succeed in lowering your price..
I was in Deep Ellum yesterday, the Homeless there bother me.. hanging out, they see you park and go inside an establishment.. yup, I don't trust them.. one guy asked me "can I ask you a question" as I was walking by, I looked at him and said "I doubt it.. if it's about money I don't have any"... we both chuckled, he knew I was on to him immediately..

I say again, priests and ministers get away with this every single day and get tax exemption support from the government on top of it! A crass way to look at it is economic darwinism, but apart from banning anyone who doesn't exchange an actual good or service for a fee, we're all going to be free to cheat each other.

I have lived out on the streets, You know how degrading and low i felt trying to ask for money.. I did it one time and that was it. I have to much pride. My thing i would rather starve then ask for anything and be belittled by some one. I wasnt going to ask my parents for help even though they are well off, my dad is all about take pride in yourself and your name. If you have two feet and hands set of eyes you can work like any other person. I think alot of it is people become content and lazy don't have want any responsibility. Its like people that enjoy being in prison. You laugh but it is true.
And this welfair mentality a great deal of people have to does not help at all... Many of those panhandlers are collecting a check and have foodstamp cards. Its fucked up I know and that is your hard money going to somehody begging with no shame in their game.
