And the final question to which I would enjoy a response is, do you believe there are any standards of decency and civility to which members of this board should comply to avoid being social cretins?

I do find it a little humorous when some take offense to the words whore, hooker, escort, etc., because it really does all mean the same thing......you screw men and sometimes women for money. Now, it doesn't mean that you have to like it, but in the end it truly is a matter of semantics. You can call yourself whatever you wish, I don't care.
Do you have to use the terms? No. I've never referred to a client as a trick or john nor have I referred to a provider as a hooker or whore on the boards that I can recall. You have to use the words that are comfortable to you. I refer to myself as a courtesan because I fit the mold of a true courtesan. Do I find the term "hooktard" acceptable? No, But, I can't control what words others choose to use.
Standards of decency on the boards? Again, I can't control what others choose to say or what terms they choose to use when describing someone. Nor can anyone else. I pay attention to the style of writing that men have and that does have some bearing on whether or not I choose to spend time with them.
