Since treaties are on a par with the Constitution as far as being the law of the land, I don't think a person can truly be faithful to the Constitution while at the same time ignoring treaties this country has made. Yeah, it would be an upheaval, and I don't think it is practical. But to ignore them is inconsistent with respecting the Constitution.

It's too late now. What's done is done. The whole world is full of countries that were invaded and conquered, basically stolen. Whether or not treaties were broken, may not be the central point. Did Ghengis Khan break any treaties, probably not, he just raped, pillaged and took over half the Earth.

Honoring treaties that were violated, in some cases, over two hundred years ago is similar to the demand for reparations for African-Americans to make up for slavery. I'm not for that either. It's not practical and it doesn't make any sense to punish the current generation for the sins of our great great grandfathers.

Then the UN should set the example and move back to The Hague...preferably via eco-friendly clipper ship.

Can't argue with that. They should walk there.

Was there really any gold there?Or a rumor to get the whites to flood in and break the treaty.

There was gold; Custer helped with spreading the word. Read Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee by Dee Brown. Several years ago, HBO made a credible series called Deadwood about Deadwood, South Dakota's Gold Rush days. It's worth watching, especially if you like 'Soiled Doves'.

One thing for sure. Yanking out someones eyeball will definetally take the fight out of them.

One of the best scenes ever.

Calamity Jane: Everyday takes figuring out all over again how to fucking live.

Al Swearengen: God rest the souls of that poor family. And pussy's half price, next 15 minutes.
