There's probably a only a copuuple of teams that they're ok with and figure if they can get the trade price down far enough that the new team will then give AB a new contract after the trade.
Too bad he can't be put on the restricted list for saying he won't report to certain teams if traded. He is under contract after all.

This was and is exactly the case. This entire act was way more calculated then most understood. It shouldn’t be allowed and the shrewd NFL owners need to put an end to it with next CBA. Fucker killed any bargaining power we could possibly have while still under contract. That’s what pisses me off. Love seeing him go but hate the small return and cap space hit. Our only option was to not trade him, have another long drawn out, bad publicity contract dispute and more drama. He’s that big of a dick to not be worth it. Him and his slimey agent.
