Believe it or not, I'm actually a really shy guy.

I’ve heard a theory that a lot of guys don’t approach pretty women in the bar scene bc they’re just shy.. meanwhile we’re wondering “Why won’t he just come over here and say something?!”
Next time you see a lady you’d like to say something to just send her a drink, it breaks the ice.
Or if she approaches you just smile and make convo, we don’t bite 😉

I don't drink, so the bar scene is a non-issue for me. If a woman randomly approached me in public like you describe, I'd suspect it was some kind of setup and decline.
